About Calorie Calculator Tool
Calorie Calculator Tool is a free consumer nutrition tool. It estimates your daily calorie needs from the standard Mifflin-St Jeor equation, and publishes plain-language guidance on what those numbers mean — with particular depth on two situations where generic calorie advice falls short: after bariatric surgery and on GLP-1 medications.
Who publishes this site
This site is published by M4Quick LLC, an independent digital studio. It is not operated by, funded by, or affiliated with any pharmaceutical manufacturer, supplement brand, surgical practice, telehealth provider or weight-loss programme. We do not sell consultations, meal plans or subscriptions.

What we are — and what we are not
- No clinician reviews this site. Earlier versions of these pages carried a banner saying a staff dietitian had reviewed them. That banner did not belong here and has been removed. Nothing on this site has had clinical review.
- We employ no doctor, nurse, pharmacist or surgeon. Anything touching diagnosis, medication or surgical management is outside what we can responsibly review, and we do not pretend otherwise.
- We will not badge the site with expertise it does not have. Stamping "medically reviewed" on a page is easy and, here, would be untrue. Every content page now carries the same banner saying exactly what it is: compiled from published guidance and checked against it, with no clinician behind it.
- We do not give individual advice. We cannot tell you your correct calorie intake, whether a symptom matters, or whether a plan is safe for you. Those need someone who can see your history and your labs.
- What we do is apply published formulas correctly, summarise authoritative guidance in plain language, show our sources, and be explicit about uncertainty.
The short version
Use this site to understand your numbers and ask better questions. Do not use it in place of a conversation with your provider or dietitian.
Our editorial policy
- Sources are public and authoritative. We work from the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, USDA and MyPlate material, NIH and NIDDK, CDC, MedlinePlus, ASMBS and Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics guidance, and published peer-reviewed research. Each content page lists its sources.
- We show the formula. Where a number comes from an equation, we print the equation. You should be able to check our arithmetic, and on the how it works page you can.
- Estimates are labelled as estimates. BMR formulas are accurate to roughly 10% for most people and worse at the extremes of body composition. We say so rather than presenting a calculated figure as a measurement.
- Pages carry a review date and a review status. Every content page shows when it was last reviewed and whether a dietitian reviewed it.
- We point you to people who are qualified. Where a question needs a clinician — and most individual ones do — we say so and tell you what kind.
- We correct errors. If something here is wrong, tell us and we will fix it.
How this site is funded
- Advertising. This site displays third-party ads. Advertisers have no input into our content and no advance sight of it.
- Affiliate links. Some product links — protein supplements, for instance — are Amazon affiliate links, and we may earn a small commission if you buy through one, at no additional cost to you. They appear only where the product is genuinely relevant, and a commission never determines what we recommend.
- No industry funding. We accept no money, product or sponsored content from supplement brands, surgical practices or pharmaceutical companies.
Our calculator and your data
The calculator runs entirely in your browser. Your height, weight, age, sex and activity level are used to do the arithmetic on your own device and are never transmitted to us, never stored and never logged. Closing the page discards them. It produces a general estimate, not a personalised nutrition prescription, and it cannot account for pregnancy, growth years, kidney or liver disease, or a history of disordered eating.
Contact and corrections
Corrections are the most useful message we receive. See our contact page.
